Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS):

A Seller’s Guide

Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) is Walmart’s fulfillment program for Marketplace (3P) sellers. Instead of shipping each order yourself, you send inventory to Walmart in bulk, and Walmart stores, picks, packs, and ships orders on your behalf, the Walmart equivalent of Amazon’s FBA.

What Is Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS)?

WFS is a paid fulfillment service for Marketplace sellers that shifts warehousing and shipping to Walmart, supporting faster delivery and more consistent customer experience.

Who Can Use WFS?

WFS is available only to Walmart Marketplace (3P) sellers not to 1P vendor agreements, where Walmart already defines transportation. A 1P supplier can, however, open a separate Marketplace account to use WFS through that channel.

How Much Does WFS Cost?

WFS charges several components: inbound shipping, storage, and pick-and-pack fulfillment fees, with optional prep services (labeling, bagging). Costs vary by size, weight, and handling, and should be evaluated alongside Marketplace referral fees. Confirm current rates on Walmart’s official WFS fee schedule.

WFS vs Amazon FBA

WFS plays the same role in Walmart’s ecosystem that FBA plays in Amazon’s: outsourced storage and fulfillment that can improve delivery speed and marketplace visibility. The main difference is reach, each serves its own marketplace.

WFS vs 3PL: Alternatives for Sellers

Third-party logistics (3PL) providers can also fulfill Walmart orders and may offer multichannel flexibility across retailers, sometimes at higher cost or with less direct Walmart integration. The right choice depends on volume, channels, and growth plans.

WFS FAQs

  • Is WFS required for Marketplace? No, it’s optional but can improve speed and visibility.

  • Can 1P suppliers use it? Only via a separate Marketplace account.
