Walmart and Sam's Club Price Rollbacks 2026: Groceries and Summer Essentials Drop

Walmart and Sam's Club announced thousands of price rollbacks this summer across groceries, household essentials, and seasonal categories. Chief Merchant Julie Barber said the retailer is 'making even more investments in price,' with rollbacks spanning beef, fresh produce, beverages, grills, pools, toys and summer apparel.

Specific cuts include a pound of 73% lean ground beef dropping to $5.94 from $6.74, fresh sweet corn falling to 25 cents an ear from 68 cents, and a 2.25-pound bag of cherries cut to $5.63 from $11.18. Sam's Club is discounting more than 250 items including fresh food, road trip snacks, and grilling essentials, with members continuing to receive fuel savings.

This follows a broader pattern: executives noted Walmart already had roughly 7,200 rollbacks in place, with continued investment in price named as a priority. The company's CFO also pointed to potential tariff refunds — Walmart has requested $2.4 billion tied to a Supreme Court ruling on tariffs — as a possible funding source. The announcement briefly became politically charged, as President Trump claimed the cuts were made at his administration's request, though Walmart's own announcement made no mention of the administration.
