Walmart's Open Call brings the retailer's commitment to U.S. manufacturing to life, connecting entrepreneurs with the opportunity to scale their products and their impact. Applications for the main event are now open, with the journey building toward the Bentonville pitch event on October 6-7, 2026.
Walmart has committed to purchase an incremental $350 billion in products made,
grown, or assembled in the U.S. by January 2031, a commitment estimated to help support more than 750,000 U.S. jobs. As of the end of FY26, Walmart had made $256 billion in incremental cumulative total purchases toward that goal. Through Open Call, the company creates pathways for small and mid-size businesses to grow while helping deliver value and choice for millions of customers.
Ahead of the main event, Walmart ran a nationwide Road to Open Call tour, with regional pitch stops across eight cities. This year's stops ran from April through June, including Los Angeles, New Orleans, Dallas, Orlando, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Salt Lake City, and Atlanta. Entrepreneurs who stood out at a regional stop could earn a fast-pass invitation straight to the main Walmart Open Call event in Bentonville. If a regional pitch stop sounds like a fit for your business, keep an eye out for next year's tour dates and application windows.
To qualify, your product needs to be:
Made, grown, or assembled in the U.S.
Shelf-ready, meaning it already has a barcode, packaging, and a URL
How it works:
Apply now through Walmart's RangeMe portal (application window is open)
If selected, you get a 30-minute one-on-one pitch meeting with a Walmart or Sam's Club merchant
Outcomes range from a handful of local stores to placement across hundreds of stores, Walmart.com, or Walmart Marketplace
What this means for suppliers:
This is one of the clearest direct paths to a Walmart buyer meeting, a real opportunity for suppliers who don't yet have an in with Walmart's merchant team.
Since only items submitted through RangeMe during the application window are considered, missing the deadline means waiting until next year, timing matters more than product quality alone
